It's almost like they like each other

Or at least that's what it would seem like from this picture. But don't be fooled. Today, M threw an end-table at E and E bit M really hard. I thought I had at least another 6 months until all this. At least they are still willing to share their goldfish crackers. The picture was right before church, that's why they still have their ties on in the right place!

Unrelated, DH and I were spontaneous today and took off at like 10:30 and went to SL to do fun things. Tax season is over, so he can finally take time off. We met Annzy and Logan for Chinese, then went to stores and places we don't have around home. Our boys love shopping, so it's no problem. Hit 2 DI's and got some WONDERFUL Vanilla-Strawberry-Hemp granola at Wild Oats. If anyone knows how to obtain the recipe I would be very interested. Anyway, after we stopped in to my friend's house to varnish a table and chairs for her since she is on bed-rest and everyone else has to do her nesting for her. Silly........

I didn't say it was a good story.

Obsessions

obsession: 1. Compulsive preoccupation with a fixed idea or an unwanted feeling or emotion, often accompanied by symptoms of anxiety. 2. A compulsive, often unreasonable idea or emotion. 3. A perfume by Calvin Klein.

lucy van pelt tagged me for the obsession meme. I am supposed to list five things I am obsessed with right now. This is not easy for me to think of, but here it is...

• Rick rack –It actually takes a lot of willpower for me to sew something and NOT put some rick rack on it somewhere. I just think everything is better with it, but of course, not everybody thinks this way, so I have to restrain myself at times.

• Watching Gilmore Girls –Sadly, I share this obsession with many others. It doesn’t help that DH shares this with me. I missed several of the earlier seasons, but I have to agree that the writing is just not the same anymore.

• Nursing – Obsession is not the right word, but this is probably the thing I do most often, by default of having a baby. Especially with E, he is showing no signs of slowing down.

• Checking Mothering–When I actually get a chance to post anything there, I like to see if anyone has responded to my posts. Also, I just like to go there a lot for advice about things in general.

• Washing my face- I have probably only missed my “face washing routine” a few times in the last 15 years or so. Even when DH and I were dating, and I’d get in at 4am, I would still wash, moisturize, etc.. You’d think I’d have great skin as a result, but I don’t. I take comfort in the fact that maybe it would be worse if I hadn’t.

I have only one person I could tag that hasn’t already been tagged, tash, you’re it.

2 cakes and a birthday

E had his first birthday (twice) and of course it's adorable for this one time only when they rub cake all over. I thought the Elephants were easy to make and pretty fun. We did it without coconut for the Boise party and with for the Utah one, so they looked different. E is changing so much and has finally evened out his proportions to all be in the 75th percentile! I think this is the first time I've had a kid do this. Usually it's height 60, weight 15, head 5 or whatever (at least for M) E was always over 100 for weight, so I guess all that running around has burned a few calories! We went to watch Uncle R in his Junior assembly skit today and it was pretty entertaining. He chugged two 2-liter bottles of water (gross) and did this cute prom skit and then announced the royalty. He is in the finals for Senior class officer this week, so we may have many more assemblies to attend next year, who knows. E and I have been sick for a week and a half, and we now have allergies I think. Also, it's snowing something fierce outside. I really want to get those tomatoes planted already! Oh well.

Better than a pillowcase

Today I have done a lot already and it's only 3:20. I went (all with the boys in tow, of course) to the craft store, the grocery store, to see my mom at work, and the library. Since lunch I've made 2 dresses. I think my nieces will look really cute in them. I am compensating for the lack of daughters. I love to put my boys in matching clothes, because I am just that obnoxious. I think pillowcase dresses are so cute, so when I found a really pretty matching pair for $1 each, I had to buy them and try to make some, but I knew that they really can't even begin to pass for boy clothes, so they are for the youngest 2 girls in the family. Good thing I at least have them, and I'm not chasing strangers down on the street trying to measure their daughters for dresses. It could be that bad. Anyway, they were pretty much the easiest thing to sew ever. Oh, and I also taught E where his nose is.

Just you TRY listening to conference

We had a great conference weekend! My kids were so cute on Sunday and even sort of cooperated for some pictures outside! I really enjoyed all the sessions, but the first one I thought had many talks that were especially good. (maybe that's because you listed more closely to the first one before you get exhausted trying to watch conference with 2 toddlers) I really liked the one about watching what you say. I think I could learn a lot from that one. I got a bunch of scrapbooking done while listening, and now I am caught up to at least Sept. or something. I take WAY too many pictures. We're looking forward to going to Boise this next weekend with Ann and seeing Grammy, Pops, and the Edward family.
