My E is 5 today!

I can't believe my SECOND child is 5! I must be getting old(er). E is such a sweet boy. Definately more high-needs than the other boys. Something with that is that when you accomplish something in your relationship with him, you feel more satisfied because you put in so much work. More of a "parenting 505" than a "parenting 101" thing, if you read yesterday's Segullah post. He is getting a lot easier, though. He sleeps through the night in his own bed and follows rules pretty well, especially if there is a reward chart of some kind going on. He is very good with C and had a bond with him before he was born, talking to him all the time in my belly. He was the same way with Nolan, and often includes him in things we're talking about, not wanting one of his little brothers left out. (even if every clerk, photographer, teacher, or random stranger does not wish to hear the story of his brother that died) He even tries to assign Nolan his share of the chores.

Some things I love about him at this stage: his energy, his love for C, his cute little smile, his shyness at unexpected times, his crazy intelligence.

Some things he loves to do: shoot things with dart guns, ride his bike, eat, help me clean the house, dig with shovels, say the blessing on the food, sing or whistle, fight with swords, dress up in various costumes, play with legos or blocks, draw and color, be with his friends and family. He absolutely adores his preschool teacher and loves going to school. He is very social and friendly.

He has a special place in his heart for my sister, Aunt Whitney, and had a great time going to Cracker Barrel for breakfast with her this morning.

I'll have to post pics of his birthday later. For now, here are a few goodies that made it onto his preschool birthday poster.
