School so far...

A few people have asked what we have been doing for school beyond the first day, so I’ll summarize so far. If you don’t care, just skip this post. I’m not trying to be all obnoxious like “look at me!”

First Day- Names and such (see previous post)

Day 2- Shapes, played with tangrams, had fun w/stations, library time

Last week

Tue- Feelings, puppet show, made feeling faces and came up with situations, stations, made cookies.

Wed- Vegetables- examples, memory game, potato stamp paintings

Thurs- Homophones & Riddles, read squirrel nutkin, examples of homophones, illustrated riddles, attended Library story time.

This week

Mon- Visited Utah Museum of Natural History, saw frog exhibit, had picnic

Tue- Tall Tales, Read about Paul Bunyan, discussed exaggeration, made their own tall tale. I have included it below.

Today- “The Force”- Gravity and Newton, did experiments with gravity, inertia, and magnetism. Had new stations set up. Ate Newtons apple when we were done. Going to story time as well.

We also work on either number, letter, cutting, or other various workbooks every day before the lesson but after songs, etc… It lasts from 1-4 hrs. usually two.

Haha - that is SO awesome! I love that your little ones say things like "They used a conifer to brush their teeth." But it sounds like they're having lots of fun and keeping you very busy, so good for you!! :D

Love the story. What a surprise ending, I never saw it coming. Love that they brushed with a "conifer". Great imaginations.
